If you do not mind waiting 2 hours for your meal, your waitress being really bad and forgeting your rice and getting the only non-Japanese chef at the Japanese Steakhouse, then you might not mind Nakama! Okay, to be really fair, our Chef, Blair, was actually quite good, especially considering that he had only been doing this for about six months. He tossed his spatula, twirled it around his fingers, etc. and I could forgive when he threw the pepper shaker and it ended up on the table nexts to ours! But our waitress was ridiculous in that it took her 45 minutes to realize our table was waiting, 15 minutes to get us drinks (not even alcohol) and she forgot our rice, which we received well after our meal was underway! That said, the ambiance at Nakama is lovely, from the light fixtures designed to look like paper laterns over your table to the amazing stainless steel grills to the nice mood lighting. But at about $20 a pop per person and $7 for Valet Parking, you might want to wait until they work out all of the bugs and can feed you within a reasonable amount of time!
