The Western Pennsylvania Field Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting outdoor recreation and Western Pennsylvania as a great place to live, work and play outdoors. Some of their upcoming actitivties include, a "Beer Tasting Hike," which will be a scenic 2-3 mile hike will be followed by a tasting of a small batch of hand-crafted beer; "Sea Kayaking," where you can learn to navigate a sea-kayak right in your own backyard! On our tour of the Allegheny River, you'll learn about the natural surroundings and fascinating history of this revitalized river right in the heart of the Pittsburgh; and "Sky Diving."

WPFI is a membership organizations, with household memberships as low as $45 annually, which entitles you to discounts on all trips, events, etc., but you do not have to be a member to sign up for any field institute outing! You can check them out at http://www.wpfi.org.
